Choir-singers

If the thought of carol singing transports you gloomily back to the more sombre School days when you were either forced to sing in the choir by your overbearing mother, or squashed between the folds of a gusty-lunged aunt, then come to Covent Garden this Christmas.

Last week, Christmas began in Covent Garden when the City of London choir filled the air with cheer and melody in the crisp, winter evening. Now, every week following until 17th December, a choir can be heard inspiring delight into the hearts of even the most determined Christmas hater.

Along with all the festive classics, hearken to the more cotemporary selection of eclectic pieces and show tunes. The line up of choirs is as follows:

  • 19th November Amersham A Capella: An all-female group who specialise in jazzing up classical ballads.
  • 26th November Putney Choral Society: Eighty voices strong, enjoy their contemporary and traditional music choices.
  • 3rd December Choir to be announced: Suprises are worth waiting for.
  • 10th December City Chamber Choir: Award winning amateur choir singing festive favourites
  • 17th December Finchley’s Children’s Music Group: With voices like angels this is the perfect choir to end the Christmas season in Covent Garden.

All performances take place from 6-7pm in the piazza. Enjoy a glass of mulled wine and the end of the Covent Garden Real Food Market’s season. There’s no better place to be in London this Christmas.
