Rumours have been circulating for weeks that the Michelin-starred restaurateurs Anthony Demetre and Will Smith are to launch a third site in London. It has just been confirmed that the pair behind the successful Arbutus and Wild Honey restaurants have bought a spot on William IV Street in Covent Garden and are expected to start work renovating the buildings in the next couple of months.

The unnamed restaurant will be a relaxed, European-style brasserie covering two floors and featuring a private dining room and ‘dining counter’. This new spot will be based along very similar lines to their award winning Arbutus and Wild Honey, but attempt to be a more informal concept. Prices at these two restaurants can be as low as £15.50 for a three-course lunch, and £85 bottles of wine are served in affordable carafs allowing customers to choose the best accompaniment to their food whilst not breaking the bank.

Smith, (interviewed on www.bighospitality.co.uk) praised the location of the new 5,000ft property, saying “Covent Garden is a great area with year round business”. And as their other restaurants have been praised to the heavens by locals, tourists and terrifying restaurant critics alike, a new sister eatery in the heart of Covent Garden is definitely something to look forward to. As Demetre and Smith are renown for astoundingly good food at very reasonable prices, my tastebuds are watering already, before the paint is even on the walls and a name has been decided.
